Residencia artística y Festival de performance

La Red Internacional de Artes de Performance, conocida en inglés como International Network of Performance Art (INPA), bajo la dirección curatorial del artista y productor cultural independiente, Hector Canonge, lanza IBERICA, la primera Residencia y Festival internacional de Artes de Performance que tendrá lugar en España del 23 al 29 de junio de 2025. Bajo el auspicio de Centros Art House Spain iniciado por Art House Madrid, la primera edición de IBERICA da la bienvenida a dieciséis artistas provenientes de varios países seleccionados a través de una convocatoria internacional. En su primera edición, IBERICA se centra en aspectos de territorialidad y corporeidad, explorados a través del arte de performance y sus diversas manifestaciones. Los artistas seleccionados estarán en residencia en Kárstica Espacio de Creación en Cañada del Hoyo, Cuenca (del 23 al 27 de junio) y posteriormente presentarán performances en vivo en el Museo La Neomudéjar de Madrid (sábado y domingo, 28 y 29 de junio).

IBERICA es una iniciativa independiente y autogestionada cuyo objetivo es crear una plataforma donde artistas consagrados, emergentes y nuevos puedan dialogar, compartir conocimientos y reflexionar sobre la disciplina del arte del performance y sus propios acercamientos al Arte de Acción. Además del programa de residencia creativa y el festival, IBERICA incluye talleres, seminarios, intervenciones públicas, y presentaciones no solo para los participantes, sino también para un público más amplio en las ciudades donde se desarrolla, Cuenca y Madrid en 2025. Otro aspecto del programa es poder fomentar la cooperación entre los artistas participantes en un espacio común de convivencia y colaboración. Creada por el artista y gestor cultural, Hector Canonge, IBERICA tendrá su lanzamiento oficial en 2025. Según Canonge, la idea germinó después de haber realizado los festivales europeos de arte del performance ENCUENTRO en Berlín y PERFORMATICA en Venecia. Viendo la necesidad de crear una plataforma de convivencia y creación para artistas cuya práctica se centra particularmente en Arte del Performance, IBERICA nació de esas primeras conversaciones entre artistas y otros gestores. La propuesta que Canonge llevó a los directores de Centro Art House Madrid fue bien recibida y se comenzó con las gestiones a finales del 2024. Para su primera edición, IBERICA contará con la participación de artistas provenientes de seis continentes todos reunidos y compartiendo saberes en la ex-estación ferroviaria de Cañada del Hoyo, Cuenca.
Acerca de INPA
La Red Internacional de Arte de Performance, International Network of Performance Art, es una plataforma en línea creada para la difusión, presentación, colaboración, exploración, experimentación, diálogo y construcción de comunidad entre profesionales, curadores, organizadores, escritores y teóricos del Arte de Performance. La red anima a sus miembros a compartir su trabajo, publicar temas relacionados con el Arte de Performance: oportunidades, presentaciones, festivales, residencias, conferencias, publicaciones e investigaciones, y facilita información general para el desarrollo de la disciplina y sus diversas modalidades de expresión. Acerca de Hector Canonge
Además de la producción de su propia obra artística, Hector Canonge participa activamente en el desarrollo de iniciativas independientes, creación de plataformas culturales, gestión de exposiciones internacionales y festivales de performance alrededor del mundo: ITINERANT en Nueva York (2010-2019), LATITUDES en Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia (2017-presente), AUSTRAL en Buenos Aires, Argentina (2019-presente), ENCUENTRO LATINOAMERICANO DE PERFORMANCE ART en Berlín (2023-presente) y PERFORMATICA en Venecia, Italia (2024-presente). Desde 2014, Canonge colabora con artistas e instituciones en la creación de iniciativas internacionales como ARTerial Performance Lab (Latinoamérica), PERFORMEANDO (Berlín) y TALKaCTIVE, LiVEART.US, NEXUS y PAUSA (Estados Unidos). En 2020, durante la pandemia, Canonge lanzó el programa mundial en línea CRÓNICAS DEL CONFINAMIENTO, con artistas de Latinoamérica, Europa, África y Asia. En 2022, Canonge lanzó y curó PAUSA, Performance Art USA, e impulsó el desarrollo de INPA, la Red Internacional de Artes de Performance. Su obra artística y proyectos interdisciplinares han sido presentados mundialmente y nombrados en publicaciones y revistas de arte contemporáneo.
The International Network of Performance Art (INPA) under the curatorial direction of the artist and independent cultural producer, Hector Canonge, launches IBERICA, the first international Performance Art Residency & Festival to take place in Spain from June 23rd to 29th, 2025. Under the auspices of Centros Art House Spain initiated by Art House Madrid, the first edition of IBERICA welcomes sixteen artists from around the world selected through an international open call. For its first program, IBERICA focuses on aspects of territoriality and corporeity as explored through Performance Art and its various manifestations. Selected participants will be hosted as resident artists at Kárstica Espacio de Creación in Cañada del Hoyo, Cuenca, (June 23rd to 27th) and will present live performances at Museo La Neomudéjar in Madrid (Saturday and Sunday, June 28th and 29th).

IBERICA is an independent, self-sustained creative initiative whose goal is to create a platform where established, emerging, and new artists can dialogue, share knowledge, and reflect on the discipline of performance art and their own approaches to Live Action Art. In addition to the creative residency program and the festival, IBERICA includes workshops, seminars, public interventions, and presentations not only for participants but also for a wider audience in the cities where it takes place, Cuenca and Madrid in 2025. Another aspect of the program is to foster cooperation among participating artists in a shared space suitable for coexistence and collaboration. Created by artist and cultural producer, Hector Canonge, IBERICA will officially launch in 2025. According to Canonge, the idea germinated after participating in the European performance art festivals ENCUENTRO in Berlin and PERFORMATICA in Venice. Seeing the need to create a platform for coexistence and creation for artists whose practice focuses particularly on Performance Art, IBERICA was born from those initial conversations between artists and other curators. The proposal Canonge took to the directors of Centro Art House Madrid was well received, and negotiations began in late 2024. For its first edition, IBERICA will feature artists from six continents, all gathering and sharing knowledge at the former Cañada del Hoyo train station in Cuenca, Spain.
About INPA
The International Network of Performance Art is an online platform for the diffusion, presentation, collaboration, exploration, experimentation, dialogue, and community building among practitioners, curators, organizers, writers and theorists of Performance Art. The network encourages members to share their work, post topics related to Performance Art: opportunities, presentations, festivals, residencies, conferences, publications, research, and facilitates general information for the development of the discipline and its various modalities of expression. INPA counts with more than two thousand members around the world, and has served as a generator for programs such as ENCUENTRO, the Latin American Performance Art Festival in Berlin, PERFORMATICA the Biennial Performance Art Summit in Venice, as well as other initiatives in Latin America and the United States.
About Hector Canonge
In addition to the production of his own artistic work, Canonge is actively involved in the development of independent initiatives, cultural platforms, international exhibitions, and performance art festivals around the world: ITINERANT in New York City (2010-2019), LATITUDES in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia (2017-present), AUSTRAL in Buenos Aires, Argentina (2019-present), ENCUENTRO LATINOAMERICANO DE PERFORMANCE ART in Berlin (2023-present), and PERFORMATICA in Venice, Italy (2024-present). Since 2014, Canonge has been collaborating with artists and institutions in the creation of international initiatives like ARTerial Performance Lab (Latin America), PERFORMEANDO (Berlin), and TALKaCTIVE, LiVEART.US, NEXUS and PAUSA (United States). In 2020, during the pandemic, Canonge launched the world-wide online program, CHRONICLES of CONFINEMENT, featuring artists from Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. In 2022, Canonge launched and curated PAUSA, Performance Art USA, and fostered the development of INPA, the International Network of Performance Art. Canonge has been featured in magazines and newspapers in the United States and abroad featuring his own interdisciplinary projects.
